New to Canicross ?

Welcome to Canicross, the sport has is one team two hearts, sometimes even 3!

We know you have spent a lot of time looking for information on Canicross so you can get started, so please take 4 minutes total to watch 2 videos which helps explain equipment, turns and signage which will help get you started on the trails.

Getting started at Canicross you will need to ensure you and your dog(s) are safely kitted out in the correct gear. Whether you want to run, bike or scoot with your dog, it is important that you and your dog have the correct and safe equipment. Below is a short video (under 2 minutes) which explains the equipment required for each of the Canicross categories. Please take the time to review the video to ensure you are starting on the right foot.

Now that you are fully kitted, you will need to know about signs on the trails and how to pass. When out with your dog (s) in various environments, be sure to practice turn commands.

Practice your start, stop and pass so your dog gets used to hearing these while out in various environments. Knowing how to turn and vocalising your turns / passes help both you, your dog and others on the trail know when you are turning and on what side (where applicable).

Below is a short video (under 2 minutes) which explains signs and how to turn and pass while out on the trails. Knowing your signs and how to pass is one of the most omportant things to know before hitting the trails safely with our dog(s)
