Various classes to include Canicross, Bikejoring and Scooter.
Championship, recreational and kids classes.

Rules for the 2026/2027 season
Please ensure you have read and understand the Rules and Regulations which you have agreed to when joining Canicross Ireland this season.
Important Notes:
You MUST be a member of Canicross Ireland to participate in Canicross Ireland events
Equipment Approval
All equipment must be approved before your first race of the season.
A tag will be provided to confirm approval and must be attached to the equipment (harness, bungee, belt) before the race.
Returning members MAY request advanced approval on equipment by video (email secretary for details).
ANY NEW equipment (harness, bungee, belt) must be approved and tagged prior to use at an event.
ALL New members must present equipment for inspection on the morning of their first race for inspection prior to receiving their race chip / number.
NO TAG - NO RACE.
Late Registration
If you have missed the event registration deadline, please email secretarycanicrossireland@hotmail.com before the end of day Tuesday before the event. A late fee of €20 will apply. We can register you for the event once the late fee has been received.
Dogs
Must be a minimum of 18 months for ALL classes
Dogs can compete in 2 classes (only one wheels class) but not in two long distance classes e.g. can do a long course and a short course ( not 2 x long course classes
A dog CANNOT compete in 2 x Wheels classes, regardless of distances.
Time Penalties
A competitor that is not in the starting position at least 2 minutes before their scheduled time, shall be declared LATE. They MAY receive a new start time in the class, if possible, or in a subsequent class racing the same course. There will be a MANDATORY 2-minute time penalty added to the final race time for ANY competitor that is declared LATE.
School and Mini Musher Classes
School (7-9) and Mini Musher (<7) classes, the child must be accompanied by an adult over the whole distance. The adult who accompanies must secure the dog with a leash that is longer than the leash of the child. The task of the adult is to ensure the safety of the child and may only intervene if a problem arises. The adult should never be ahead of the child.
